Teresa’s Lasagna

 

 

Sauce

3 links hot Italian sausage 1 lb. hamburger

¾ C onion, chopped 2 T parsley, fresh

  1. cloves garlic, minced 2 T sugar

1 (14oz)can diced tomatoes with juice 1 T dried basil

1 jar marinara sauce 1 sm. can mushrooms, sliced

1 t salt

Brown and drain meat. Add onion & garlic and cook until soft. Add remaining ingredients and simmer about 45 minutes until thickened.

Meanwhile mix cheese filling and cook noodles.

Cheese Filling

2 C cottage cheese 1 t dried basil

1 C ricotta cheese 1 t salt

¾ C + Parm. Cheese , grated 1 t oregano leaves

2 T dried parsley 2 eggs

combine all ingredients.

Lasagne noodles cooked according to package directions.

8 oz. of mozzarella or jack cheese for layering.

 

Layering 9 x 13 dish

Start with some sauce on the bottom of pan. Layer noodles evenly and cover with cheese filling and then layer with jack or mozzarella. Then start again with sauce.

Top with more parmesan . Cheese. (Use jack on one layer and mozzarella for the next.)

Cook at 350 for about 45 minutes
