Pumpkin Bread

3 ½ c               flour

2 tsp.               baking soda

2 tsp.               salt

1 tsp.   each    baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg,

½ tsp.              ginger

3 c                   sugar

1 c                   oil

4                      eggs

2 c                   canned pumpkin

2/3 c                 orange juice or milk

1 ½ c               seedless raisins

1 ½ c               chopped nuts


            Combine dry ingredients, except sugar.  Beat together  sugar and oil. Add eggs one at a time.  Stir in pumpkin and orange juice.  Blend in dry ingredients.  Stir in raisins and nuts.

Turn out into two greased (buttered) and floured loaf pans.

Let stand 20 minutes before baking.

Bake @ 350º for 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Let stand at least 5 minutes before slicing.
