Asparagus

Asparagus cut into about 1 inch pieces and thick ends peeled and cut
1/3 - 1/2 cup of butter
1/3 - 1/2 c water
Salt & Pepper
In a frying pan (large enough to hold a single layer) , bring water and melted butter to a boil
Add asparagus and a pinch of s & p, reduce heat to med/high, cover and simmer 6 minutes.
Simmer longer for thick pieces.
If you are doing more than the pan will hold in
one layer, add more butter and water.
NOTE Kay used to take time to peel asparagus. I don't. Takes toooo much time. I buy two bunches. Cut off the first couple of inches and toss the rest. (You know how lazy I am...)
